Tags are a simple way to keep your MemoryFox content organized and easy to find later. Whether you’re sorting stories by program, topic, campaign, or any other theme that makes sense for your organization, tags can help you quickly find the content you’re looking for.
There are a couple of easy ways to add tags to your content.
Step 1: Find Your Content
From the left-hand navigation menu, select Content.
Here, you’ll find all of the stories, photos, and videos that have been uploaded to your MemoryFox account.
Step 2: Manage Your Tags
To create and organize your tags, click Manage Tags.
This takes you to your tag settings, where you can:
Create new tags
Search for existing tags
Organize tags into Categories
Think of Categories as folders for your tags. For example, you might create Categories for different Programs, Campaigns, or Topics, and then keep the relevant tags organized inside each one.
You can also add tags directly from your content library — no need to leave the page.
Simply hover over the piece of content you’d like to organize and select Edit Tags.
From there, you can choose from your existing tags or create a new one.
If the tag you’re looking for doesn’t exist yet, simply type in the name of your new tag. You’ll see an option to Create the tag, which you can then add to your content.
You can also put your tags under different categories from here as well.
A Little Organization Goes a Long Way
There’s no one right way to organize your tags. The goal is simply to create a system that makes sense for your team and helps you find your content more easily.
For example, you might use tags for:
Programs: Mentorship, Scholarships, Food Pantry
Topics: Community, Education, Leadership
Campaigns: Giving Tuesday, Annual Appeal
Content themes: Gratitude, Impact, Volunteer Stories
And if you have a lot of tags, Categories can help keep everything tidy and easy to navigate.
Tip: Before creating lots of tags, it can be helpful to think about the kinds of content you’ll want to find later. A little consistency with your tagging system can make your Story Bank much easier to browse and use over time.
