Welcome to MemoryFox! 🦊

Written by Sharon Rajan

You’re just a few steps away from creating your MemoryFox account and getting ready to collect the stories, moments, and experiences that make your organization special.

The account setup is quick and straightforward - and along the way, we’ll ask a few questions to help personalize your MemoryFox experience.

Let’s get started!

Getting Started: Create your account

Visit the MemoryFox sign-up page: https://builder.memoryfox.net/signup

You’ll be asked to enter:

  • Your email address

  • A password for your account (password must contain at least one capital letter, one number, and one symbol)

Once you’ve entered your details, select “Get Started”

And your MemoryFox journey begins! ✨

Step 1: Your Info (Tell us a little about you!)

Next, you’ll be taken through the first part of the onboarding form, where we’ll ask for some basic information about you.

Simply fill in the requested details and scroll down, when you’re ready to continue.

Step 2: Organization Info (customize your MemoryFox experience)

Add details about your organization and personalize your MemoryFox experience.

You’ll be asked for your:

  • Organization name*

  • Account identifier* (the custom URL identifier for your campaign links)

  • Organization logo (full horizontal logo)

  • Organization icon (square logo/icon)

  • Brand color

  • Website URL

  • Company address

These details will customize the appearance of your account and help make your MemoryFox experience feel more like your own.

Step 3: Organization Goals (tell us a little bit about your plans for MemoryFox!)

Next, identify your goals for what you hope to accomplish with MemoryFox.

We highly recommend taking a moment to complete this section. The more we understand about your goals, the better we can understand how to support you along your storytelling journey.

Once you’ve completed your goals section, click the “Sign Up” button…and you’re all set!

Your account creation will begin to process… (it may take a couple minutes to process)

What’s Next?

Once you’ve completed the self-service account creation process, you’ll be taken straight to your MemoryFox dashboard.

From there, you’re ready to start your ethical storytelling journey with MemoryFox - collecting authentic stories and bringing the voices of your community to life.

Welcome to MemoryFox. We’re so glad you’re here and a valued part of our storytelling community! 🦊

Please note: You can easily make changes to the information you provided during account creation at any time. Simply navigate to the settings section of your account (see the cog gear icon in the bottom left). You may also invite additional members to join your MemoryFox account (see the team member icon in the bottom left).

Getting Started Overview

The Getting Started checklist is designed to guide you through the key steps for setting up your MemoryFox account and getting your content flowing into the platform.

Steps 1 and 2 may already have a green check mark, if you’ve fully completed your onboarding form during account setup. If either one is still showing as incomplete, simply click into the step and select Add Branding to finish any remaining setup items.

Here’s what each step means:

1. Create your account

This step covers the initial setup of your MemoryFox account. If your account was fully created during onboarding, you should already see a green check mark here.

2. Personalize your experience

This is where you make MemoryFox feel like your organization. Add your branding, such as your logo, colors, and other account details, so your MemoryFox experience feels familiar to your team and contributors.

If this step doesn't have a green check mark yet, click Add Branding to see what’s still needed and finish your setup.

3. Build your Content Library

Now it’s time to start bringing your content into MemoryFox!

You can begin building your Content Library by migrating existing photos and videos from your device, your organization’s shared drive, or anywhere else you have content saved.

Think of this as bringing the content you already have into one central place, where it can be organized, found, and used again when you need it.

4. Invite 3 Members

This step is about bringing the people who are capturing your organization's stories into MemoryFox.

You can invite staff, volunteers, community members, or anyone else who regularly captures photos, videos, stories, or testimonials for your organization to your Storytelling Hub.

What is the Storytelling Hub?

The Storytelling Hub gives contributors an easy way to share content right from their phone without needing access to the back end of your MemoryFox account.

When you invite someone as a Member, they do not get administrative access to your MemoryFox account. Instead, they get their own Storytelling Hub where they can easily upload and transfer the photos, videos, stories, and testimonials they’ve captured.

Once they submit content through their Hub, it can become part of your organization's Content Library in MemoryFox - making it much easier to collect stories from the people who are actually out there capturing them.

5. Create your first Design

Once you have content in your library, Designs help you turn individual testimonials into something you can share with your community.

You can bring multiple pieces of content together into a beautiful public-facing webpage, creating a collection or compilation around a particular story, event, campaign, or theme.

Think of it as taking the content you've collected in MemoryFox and turning it into something your community can experience and share.

6. Gather content from your team

This final step is about continuing to grow your Content Library by gathering stories from the people around your organization.

You can encourage your team, staff, volunteers, and other contributors to use their Storytelling Hubs to send in photos, videos, stories, and testimonials as they happen.

The more your team contributes, the more your Content Library becomes a living collection of the people, moments, and impact behind your organization.
